First Day of School

Lily started 4 year old Preschool today.  She has Ms. Coco again and there are 14 others in her class.  Yesterday we went school supply shopping.  We bought a folder and fluttershy, a my little pony.  This morning, she woke me up at 4:30am to tell me what to put in her school backpack, but she did go back to bed.  I said it was a special breakfast so she requested Lucky Charms and I added a fruit smoothie.  She was excited to go as you can tell from the photos.  From the schedule in the classroom, I saw that they had music, PE, and an all school assembly.  Lily would only tell me one thing - that they went outside.  Hopefully more details will be coming.  Cora and I had fun working in the garden.

4th of July

We love the 4th of July in Skagway.  Not even a big rain storm could stop this group.  They got "Judges Choice" in the parade with a cash prize of $15.  Now Lily can buy the barbie she found at the hardware store yesterday when we were buying decorations.  The girls are napping now so we can go back downtown for more festivities including the Duckie Derby which Lily is excited about.  Then a dinner at Jacqueline and Tyler's house. 

Grandpa Davey comes to visit

Grandpa Davey brought us some garden enhancements including some garden animals. 

We went to Dyea to see the chocolate lilies and irises. 

Grandpa Davey came to visit for a week.  He got the Lily and Cora tour of town.  He got to go to library story hour, have maple bars at the depot, see flowers in Dyea, and play on the beach in Carcross.

Cora really is funny.  I can never really capture it, but we were in Jacqueline's office and Lauren took this photo.

I think it was the new fancy skirts from Aunt Sonya and Uncle Ralph that inspired this dance party.

Carcross

We went to Carcross for the day.  It was windy but sunny.  Lily and I did up downtown Carcross while Dad and Cora napped.  Then we all took a motorcar ride down the lake.

Smugglers Cove

Sure, I only post twice a year, but that is better than nothing.  The girls and I went hiking today.  And we did pretty well.  Cora wanted to walk into the water and Lily needed a little coaxing on the way home, but we had a good time.  The weather has been great.
